Mixed Media
Through 2009–2010 I did a series of mixed media works, both on paper and on panel, further exploring the synthetic relationship between collage and painting, and 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional space. I credit my fascination with sculpture, and representing sculptural works in two dimensions, in part to one of my mentors, Wayne Kimball, and his incredible lithographs. I love to play with 2-dimensional representations of 3-dimensional space, in the liminal space between the illusion of depth and the reality of the flat 2-dimensional surface.
