About Me

Fundamentally, I believe that people are most important. There is no such thing as a boring person. Here I’d like to share some interesting things about me, outside my resume.

I love my wife and two children. There’s nobody I would rather spend my time with. If I have the option, I will always bring my kids with me on errands, even though it takes longer.

I’m deeply committed to the gospel of Jesus Christ, and to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I served a mission for my church from 1996–1998 in northwestern Italy, where I developed a deep love for the Italian people, their language, culture, and cuisine (not hard to love). 😉

I fulfilled one of my dreams by being a volunteer in the 2002 Winter Olympics, where I worked with the Italian National Olympic Committee.

I love watching sports, especially American football. I enjoy seeing athletes perform at a high level, and I relish the beauty of a well-executed play. I learned from my experience covering sports at the Spanish Fork News, and from attending the gold medal curling match in 2002, that I can get into any sport.

My primary interest from the time I was little was (and still is) art, but, during high school, band became my biggest focus. I was lead trumpet in the Spanish Fork High School concert, jazz, and marching bands. I went on to do two years of marching band, and a year of jazz band at BYU.

A minimalist at heart, I don’t want a lot of things. So if I had unlimited time and money, I would travel the world. Along with traveling, I’d use my hypothetical unlimited funds to establish a study abroad scholarship fund. In my ideal world, every college student would participate in a study abroad.

I have an ongoing ambition to read more. I love watching movies. I’m left-handed. I highly value my time. I believe in doing things 100%. I’m a recovering perfectionist. 

I’m an introvert by nature, but when I get going about myself or my interests, I can talk (or write) your ear off. 😉
