Geometry & Typography

This work represents an intersection between my interests in graphic design and sacred geometry.

Geometry & Typography

As an undergrad at BYU, I was introduced to the concept of sacred geometry by Wulf Barsch. I was fascinated that visual shapes could symbolically express truths about nature, humanity, and deity. While geometry in my work is a representation of the eternal, the collage in my work represents the mundane and ephemeral — and much of my work explores the synthesis between the two, which I see as representative of the human condition.

Typographic symbols, a crossover from my design work, can be viewed as one instantiation of this synthesis: the spoken word made permanent through a system of complex geometric representation.
