Unfinished
Every artist has pieces sitting in the studio unfinished. A group of artists exchanged unfinished pieces, and finished them for these shows, one in Bountiful, and one in Provo.

Unfinished
Every artist has pieces sitting in the studio, sometimes for years, unfinished. In 2016 Carrie Beeke and I curated an exhibit at the Bountiful/Davis Art Center in Bountiful, Utah, titled Unfinished, in which 30 artists participated. Each artist brought 2 unfinished works to a meet-up. Names were drawn at random to assign each artist two pieces from other artists to finish for the exhibit.
Taking someone else’s partially-completed work and making it your own poses a unique challenge, forcing an artist out of his or her comfort zone. However, the challenge stimulated additional creativity, and provided unexpected and fulfilling results.
My Work
In our random drawing to see who would get pieces from whom, I received pieces started by Adriane Lillis, and Bret Hanson. Here they are in their initial, and then finished states.

Unfinished II
After the success of Unfinished, we decided to do another round. Several artists from the first show participated, and other artists joined in. Unfinished II showed at the Covey Center for the Arts in Provo, Utah in 2017.
My Work
This round, I received unfinished pieces from Matt Kruback and Lenka Konopasek.
